Officer Henrichon was killed in an airplane accident while searching for a missing person. The man had been reported missing after failing to arrive at his destination in Yuma, Arizona. An aerial search was undertaken for fear that the man’s car had gone off the road in a rugged area. The plane crashed into a hillside near San Diego, California, as a result of inclement weather. Officer Henrichon had been with the agency for six years and was survived by his wife and son.

Chula Vista Police Officer Robert Earl Cox was a former US Marine Reservist during the Korean War.   Cox was a bachelor and resided in San Diego.  He was also attending San Diego State University.
Officer Cox was hired as a police officer on October 23, 1957.  He had been on the Chula Vista Police Department for about 9-months, and completed his probation period.
Cox was survived by his foster mother Daisy I. Hauschildt of Everett, Washington and his father, Dewey Cox of Portland, Oregon.
Officer Cox was killed in an on-duty traffic collision with a Chula Vista Fire Truck at the intersection of Third Avenue and J Street in Chula Vista.  At about 8:35AM on July 19, 1958 both the fire truck and Cox were responding to a fire alarm, when Cox’s police car broadsided the fire truck.  Officer Cox was killed instantly on the scene.
Four Chula Vista Firefighters, Edward Link (Engineer), Louis W. Cook (Assistant Fire Chief), and two firefighters, Larry Airingdale and Ron Mesker received minor injuries and were later discharged from the hospital.
Officer Cox was laid to rest at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Beverly Park Station, Everett, Washington.
